Online baby shower? Does anyone know how to host an online party? or get more info about it?

I just received the guest list for a baby shower I am helping with and it had two lists. The second says "out-of-state for online party". I've never heard of that.

  2. that is nuts. maybe you should create your own chatroom on a common server (i.e. aim or yahoo) and.. talk to eachother? edit: hear the person below me, but listen to the one above me. they're both in the right. edit again: i just read this article http://news.yahoo.com/s/usatoday/20060718/tc_usatoday/weddingwebcastsengagemoreinterest;_ylt=ArmK8nah1QEwg4SgM0ZVUCUDW7oF;_ylu=X3oDMTBhZDhxNDFzBHNlYwNtZW5ld3M- maybe you could do it via webcam? who knows.
  3. I've never heard of such a thing. To me, it sounds like a way for the mother-to-be to demand more gifts. You cannot have a shower with guests who are not in attendance. They are no longer guests, but hostages to a greedy girl. Frankly, if I received an invitation to an "online" shower, I'd decline the "honor." That said, I have received invitations to out-of-state showers and have happily sent a gift or made plans to attend.
  4. It sounds like a way to get more gifts from people who can't come. Just send out invites and if the people can't make it ,but want to send a gift , they will. I think it sounds really greedy to have an on line party!
