Latest Lists

I am a chronic list maker. It is interfering with my daily regime. What kinds of meds are available for this?

I make to do lists, goal lists, write down my bills, but I still can't think straight. I am always running around writing lists, and I can't complete daily tasks. It is driving me crazy, because I will be sitting on the floor playing a game with my son, and I will get sidetracked and write down stuff I need to "do". I can't think straight. These lists are everywhere. I have tried to make myself write down only one or two a day, but it turns in to 6, sometimes up to 10!

  1. A better postive thought about yourself as a person
  2. Have you talked to a professional at all about this? This could be several different things, and maybe nothing pathological (i.e. you may not be mentally ill or anything, you may just have something that is stressing you out!), but it is worth talking to a psychologist or psychiatrist about. Be careful in choosing a psychiatrist because you don't want one who gives you a prescription without much thought.
  3. I have the same kind of problem...ever since I started working a really high stress job.......I feel I can't EVER accomplish anything because it never ends......I don't know what to say but I feel your pain girlfriend!
  4. to me it sounds like an obsessive compulsion. therapy can help, and so can meds(SSRIs).
