Would there be any online sites that would help me find a good book? Or would you know of any good books?

I love to read, and I keep running out of books!! I've looked on the internet for sites that would help me find good books, but no luck. I don't know if there is one or not, or if I just didn't look hard enough, which is why I'm asking :D. The perfect book site would be one that asks questions.. instead of just giving me a popular book list. Like... my level of reading (maybe a test first...?), what kind of books I like.. stuff like that. I'm probably asking too much, but is there a site (free) that does that? If you know of good books I might enjoy, please say so! :) I'm 14, and a fair reader. Adventure books, fantasy, non-romantically-sickish, horse books... those are things I love to read about. I've read and loved: the Harry Potter series (who hasn't?) and the Bartimaeus Trilogy, Inkheart/Inkspell, Gone With the Wind, the Heartland Series (this is about horses.. not romance :P) and tons of other books. Thank you :)

  1. Well I read HP, bartameaus triology, and inkheart and inkspell. I sugges The uglies triology. It is about people in the future and stuff. VERY GOOD READ IT!
  2. Go to the library and look on the recent acquisitions shelf. Read Peace Like a River by Leif Engers -- great coming of age novel. Here's a site for books for young adults: http://www.ala.org/ala/yalsa/booklistsawards/booklistsbook.cfm Also see NPR's readers picks: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4988309 Also NY Times Writer's survey: http://www.nytimes.com/2007/06/03/books/review/Survey-t.html Hope these help.
  3. Well, if you like books about teenagers today I loved the Clique series, Gossip Girl (this was just made into a show), It Girl, and anyhting by meg cabot. But, my top choice would be the Twilight saga by Stephenie meyer Twilight, New Moon, and Eclipse.
  4. book review sites would be the best start. i am a member of a reading group have read books i would not have considered thinking that's not what i like and found i really enjoyed them. Although there were a couple the group could not finish. I would really recommend Terry Pratchett {disc world} these are my favorite and suit kids up to 99. remember the saying don't judge a book by its cover. try a bit of everything if you don't like a book you don't have to finish it its no big deal. Happy hunting for the books you'll enjoy again and again.. Oh by the way there is a good book list here in the uk do a search for Richard & judy Book club Pasted below. http://www.channel4.com/entertainment/tv/microsites/R/richardandjudy/book_club/book_club.html
  5. I have answered this question so many times, I decided to dedicate a web site to answer this question. Here it is: http://www.life-after-harry-potter.com Included is a list of only the best sorcery fantasy books, grade reading level, a short review of each book along with a brief summary of adult content. There is also a "Reader's Choice" list of favorite books, and a list of heroine sorcery fantasy books. I hope this helps. Jim, http://www.jimpettis.com/wheel/
