How do I turn off the saved text box lists in online forms in Internet Explorer?

When I type in something in a text box on a webpage in Internet Explorer, it saves it for some reason and now evertything I've ever typed in shows up in drop down lists when I go back another time to type something else in (like the search fields for yahoo and google). How do I turn this off? It's so annoying.

  1. You mean AUTO COMPLETE. How annoying when you have naughty things in there. Look at the top of the browser: Click TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS>CLICK CONTENT TAB>CLICK AUTO COMPLETE>THEN UNCHECK ALL BOXES>CLICK OK. You should be fine now. Pesky thing, huh?
  2. This one's easy, don't worry :) On your browser (or by right clicking IE on your desktop), go to Internet Options. Under Browsing History, hit the "delete" button, then hit "delete forms" under form data. You can use the settings button to control what is saved as well. Hope that helps! PS -- I am using version 7, but if you are using an older version, it should be pretty similar anyway.
  3. look for an option under your preferences, I'm on firefox so I cant really give you a straight way but this Q has been asked here many times just search for it on Yahoo Answers you need to clear your private data too bad you arent on firefox or else it would be just ctrl-shift-del Hint: get Firefox, explorer sucks
