- Because some dumbass put it there. Along with many other awesome books. Oh wait, I am suppost to be emotionally damaged by "Catcher in the Rye", I forgot.
- Because it's boring!!
- Wouldn't you have to read it to find out? Then you'd get in trouble because its on the banned book list... and you read a banned book! Hitler banned books. Is that what we're going for here?
- Same reason why safe sex isn't taught in every school. because of all the conservatives that run our education system with their "good old" morals.
- He, "in theory", enslaved Friday. Sorry just a guess. Look at this censorship. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/pages/live/articles/news/news.html?in_article_id=494755&in_page_id=1770
- To really know why Daniel Defoe's "Robinson Crusoe" was banned, you must first read it and understand the position of those who banned the book, ie. the Catholic Church which still has him on the list of banned authors- or at least most of his books (he has written 500 books, stories, essays, etc.). Daniel Defoe was a political dissenter and critic, a pamphleteer, a spy, and a dissident minister. His books have been banned for sexuality,- ie. Moll Flanders was a whore who commited adultery and incest-, heresy, obscenity, and for political dissent. Robinson Crusoe was temporarily banned for obscenity.
