How do I establish multiple price lists in Quickbooks?

My client is a food wholesaler who maintains three different customer price lists: one for online retail customers, one for distributors, one for direct store customers. Each price list contains the same items, but the prices are different. I want for the customer's proper sale price to come up each time an item is entered on their invoice. I know I can create three different codes for each item but then the item wouldn't be removed from inventory. Any ideas? Incidentally, it seems that using "price levels" won't work because differences in customer prices can't be defined by a percentage up or down from a base amount.

  1. I think the feature you need is called a price level. Per item price levels are only available in Premier and higher versions. Here is a knowledge base article that explains the functionality of price levels. http://support.quickbooks.intuit.com/support/DoSearch.aspx?kbID=incomen-pricelevelsn-taskcreatepricelevelhtml0&sg=SG_QuickBooksProEdition2007&mod=12-8-2006+3:52:52
