  1. Do you mean in an emergency room? If so they go by who is the most dire need of medical attention. They usually do a triage and assess the patients needs and then go from there. I know it is frustrating to be sitting in the waiting room to be seen for hours and then someone else walks in and is seen within minutes but you have no idea what their problem is and it could be the difference between life and death. If that is what you mean then that's my opinion.I am a nurse but I have always worked in long term care and not a hospital but I know the protocol of who gets seen first and why. If it is not what you meant then I am sorry I gave you the wrong answer.
  2. I was told by our hospital that whoever comes in an ambulance gets first priority..Also babies..I love children and i think everyone should be treated fair..I do think it should go by critical but then again i think if the hospital, such as ours can't handle the patients they should call in more staff..Every life is just as important to there family as the other person.
  3. Those most seriously hurt or sick If you are from a country that has national health care-I'd give the same answer. I use to be pen pals with someone in England and she had to wait a year to have varicose vein surgery.done.! Sometinmes national health care aint what people think it will be. Let say there are two people needing a transplant a young child and an older adult that has abused his/her body for years--even if the adult were more in need I would give it to the child because they did nothing to deserve needing the transplant. My thoughts..
