Selling Hair extensions online? Could it work?

Okay, so I'm thinking about getting into my own small business of selling hair extensions online.... I saw a site where some girl was charging 17.50 (plus 5.50 shipping) for a single 18" long 1in wide extension and I thought that was crazy... I know scene kids are all into extensions these days so I thought I could make leopard print extensions, rainbow ones and coon tails etc and sell them for like....7 dollars a piece...plus shipping... Do you think that would work? Would it be a good idea for a small online business??? here are some pics of the type of extensiosn I might sell... they are 18" 100% straight human hair. With the clips sewn in myself. sry about the crappy camera quality http://i318.photobucket.com/albums/mm430/durfangsqueak/Photo45.jpg from top to bottom: an extension that fades from pink to purple (sry the colors are really off in the pick) a rainbow extension (my fav) a failed rainbow extension (the green didn't turn out) a really pretty teal color (in real life) a pink extension a pale blonde extension a huckleberry kind of blue a brown extension a blonde and blue coon tail a purple and blonde coon tail 7 dollars might even be to much, I might think about selling them for 5 or two for 8, something along those lines....just because shipping can get expensive

  1. i got my pink ones at a store for 6 dollars. and i got two. i think that around 7 dollars is pretty cheap :) i love your extensions, ahhaah my friend would go for the rainbow ones. but not all scene kids wear them. i am labeled as a girly girl and i wear them :) i think you should open up a website and sell them, i bet that you would make a lot :D good luck
