So... In a top 10 list would you...?
In a top 10 list of The Worst Books Ever Written, would you put Twilight in it? At the top? Yes/No? Also, Why? Answer with best reasons gets voted as best answer. (Oh, and can someone recommend me an ACTUAL vampire book? Preferably a research book, but a nice fiction one is good too.) REAL VAMPIRE NOVEL? HAHAHA! Deary you have MUCH to learn about vampires; THEY DON'T SPARKLE. You gave a long list of vampire books, but, how can I trust those are good ones if you're a twilight fan? Note: I do not consider twilight fans true vampire fans. Daisy: Good point, and I thought that would be a good book. That's just TOO deep in thought. I agree with the 4th grade thing, although I was reading HP back then. But I'm smart for my age; most people think I'm 25 or so when I speak with them online. Prepare for caps lock; TWILIGHT IS NOT A ROMANCE NOVEL OR VAMPIRE NOVEL. Or at least I don't consider it to be. I only see lust, and sparkling pixies who like blood.

- no i wouldnt read it or look at the back cover so many rewards like best book of the decade best book of the year, so no its not worst
- I think Twilight would definately make my list. Some of the others in my list are Little Women The Catcher in the Rye Breaking Smith's Quarter Horse Read Anne Rice for real vampire stories.
- Yes. Honestly, it would be at the top of my list. There is absolutely no depth in that book. It has a small amount of entertainment value, which is the point of reading, but it is not well written in any sense. Stephanie Meyer has absolutely slashed and destroyed the first person writing style. She wasn't able to incorporate it properly at all! I never knew anything about the other characters, which leaves readers confused and also forces Stephanie (because she failed at writing in this point of view like a professional) to have Bella be a stalker to find information that the reader needs to know. Bad choice on her part. Characters are mary and gary-sues in every way, no question there. It's a very unhealthy relationship, and since when is being a sparkly vampire such a bad thing? Books by Anne Rice are very good. =D
- yes. It would be number 1 definatly. Why, it has a poor plot, it is a terrible read, and wat characters are that perfect. People have used that vampire/romasnce thing before and it is just not new. It's old. And in a few years people will have forgotten about it, so meyer better enjoy the few years fame. Long Live Harry Potter!!!
- No, I would put Twilight on 10 list of The Best Ever Written. Simply because the writing mechanics and word choice draws a reader in and the content is very captivating. I wouldn't put it first; I like Harry Potter better =] Twilight is a real Vampire novel; the vampires may be different but that' s the whole point of fiction. To use your imagination to create new things in literature.
- well actual dracula is the original vampire book. and it's a vampire human love story... hmmmm also buffy the vampire slayer is not a book but the most underated tv series of our generation... she loves 2 vampires i would probably include twilight on my... top 10 most disliked books, or most awesomely bad books... or best fanfiction that was actually published...
- I wouldn't. I personally really like the Twilight Saga. I think that is a really fun read. =]. Now, The Blue Blood Series by Melissa De la Cruz is really good. I think that it is really the only "research book" that I can give you with vampires. It talks about what happened with Plymouth and the whole journey or whatever. It is really excellet. I love Schuyler (character in books--pronounce "Sky-ler") For other great vampire books (that aren't really "research books," I recommend these: The House of Night Novels by PC Cast and Kristen Cast 1. Marked 2. Betrayed 3. Chosen 4. Untamed 5. Hunted (March 2009) and this: The Vampire Academy Series by Richelle Mead (Really good, despite the name and cover) 1. Vampire Academy 2. Frostbite 3. Shadow Kiss 4. Blood Promise (2009, in either July or August, I think) Hope this helps!
- I would put twilight in the list but not at the top. a great vampire book is Dracula . READ IT!!! best answer please .
- PRIDE AND PREJUDICEWORST BOOK EVER!!!!!! I mean do we really need 12 pages about walking down a road and 20 more about having a cold? I admit I did give up on it about 30 pages before the end but I was border line gun in the mouth you know, I think I should get some sort of medal for making it that far. Now on to Twilight. I am in ninth grade and all my friends are reading it! It's written on like a fourth grade readig level! and we wonder why people think americans are stupid
- Chronicles of van helsing.
- The 'Twilight' books are pretty godawful--no doubt about that!--but one of the worst EVER written? No, they don't merit that high. I think that, in the grand scheme of Western literature, they rank somewhere around "merely mediocre". Seriously, have you ever tried to read L. Ron Hubbard? Or surfed through a self-publishing/print-on-demand site? *shudders* EDIT: I've not read a lot of vampire fiction--Anne Rice turned me off years ago--but I've heard excellent things about Elizabeth Kostova's 'The Historian' (which is, in turn, an update of Stoker's classic 'Dracula').
- yes i would put it at the top of the worst one why because to me when i read it i found it bland and uninteresting predicatble, focusing to much on the character apperence and less on the character depth which lacked i found my self knowing all there was about the character after i new what they looked like cause thats all what was really about them the looks i found the book less like a book and more like a fan fiction book, as i said it focus to much on out ward and less on inward apperence and that give the message that looks matter more then the inside and gives a bad i dea of romance cause to me the only thing bella like bout edward was looks and edward liked her cause of her smell or something (don't rememeber why exactly). i found that it lacked creativity and was as if she wrote it in an hour for a school assiment. i found it illeterite and used to much adjectives that were not very good and that a 5 year old girl would use but of course if a 5 year wrote it probably would have been better
- No, I would NEVER put Twilight on that list. Twilight is very well written and keeps you pretty much on your toes. And no, I am not a fan of real vampire novels. I think Twilight would be WAY better than any other book with vampires in it, thought.
- I've read ALOT of Vampire and Werewolf books, everything from Moon Called to Twilight to Laurell K. Hamilton. My library alone have around 300 Vamp/wolf books in it. Twilight is a good book for those who (have never read any vampire books previously or) have a certain picture of what the best-life-ever would look like. In other words, they wish it was true. But that is more like a good romance stroy than a best/worst Vampire novel. I do not know what the best Vampire story is, but i know what alot of really good ones are. Vampires are portrayed differently in each one since nobody really knows what they are like. The worst book ever is probably Feed by Anderson...it is a disapointment
- Meh, Twilight is okay. I would have liked it more if I hadn't read the Anita Blake books and Anne Rice's books already. Read those. So no, I wouldn't put Twilight in my top 10 best or worst books. I read a lot, and I've come across a lot of books that are absolutely appalling. But at the same time, there are lots of excellent books. With Harry Potter, His Dark Materials, Lord of the Rings and others, I definitely don't have room for an okay-ish novel in my top 10.
