Is there a website address that lists what all documents I need being an American wanting to travel to England?

Besides the obvious plane ticket and passport, what all tests, doctor's notes do I need to have? Is there a website that lists this? Thanks.

  1. The British Council - American page. The Home Office - U.K Border Agency.
  2. Tests?? Doctor's note?? Maybe if you were coming here to study you might need some more paperwork, like a bank statement, which I vaguely remember having to do when I first came here to study abroad. I recall the university study abroad office giving me a huge handbook like the link below, but the Brits really don't take it that seriously. The woman at immigration was happy to give me a few extra months on my stay well after my course finished. She did not ask to see my return ticket or a bank statement. The police were quite bemused when I showed up to register my presence, they had little idea what I was talking about. The campus surgery did some tests on my when registering me and had no need for the letter from my doctor back home. The campus bank opened an account for me, no problem. And it's not like you need vaccinated or anything either, so tuck your plane ticket and passport into your money pouch and have a great trip!
