How long usually is a section 8 waiting list?
I was told that in Kennewick, WA the Section 8 waiting list is 6 mths to 2 years!! With it being a new year and reviews coming soon, about how long will it probably be? Can anybody give me a good guesstimate?? I appreciate it.

- depending on their case load my friend in seattle waited 5 years !
- It really depends where you live.. but that sounds about average. I live in Columbia MO and the wait is similar. If you are elderly or have children, you have priority... good luck.
- I think is about 5 years unless you have children.
- Honestly, it varies. From state-to-state and property to property. And if someone tells you they can give you an accurate answer they're lying. Some sites have a 10 year waiting list others 6 months. It depends on the demand and the turnover rate at a particular property which is almost impossible to determine.
- That is actually pretty short. We can not tell you how long the wait will be. The list is not a linear one, there are people who might be on the list but never at the top. Others are added and immediately at the top of the list.
