How long is the section 8 list?

Housing. I am applying for it and i am 21,homeless once i leave school and i have a disability. will it take long for me?

1. No one can tell you that except the HUD office in your town or city. Usually there is a waiting list. The waiting period in my city is 2 years. But I'm handicapped also, so I would be able to get emergency housing if I applied.
