One great resource you are missing is www.alexa.com It give you a whole bunch of data not only as it pertains to the top sites, but can give you some top level usage stats for any site that might be in its database. Just go the homepage and in the search box type in a domain name. If it's in their databas it will start giving you some interesting dat.
