- what????????? i luv i know why the caged bird sings. actually they're all good! poop heads >=(
- Can I assume these books were banned in a public school library? Many times, parents begin the petition to remove books deemed inappropriate, racially biased, sexual in nature, gang-oriented, or religious beleifs, elicit sex and drugs. All of the books mentioned above fit into those categories. Parents who are highly influential tend to persuade the school boards that certain works of literature are not appropriate for a certain age group. Many times, it is an Elementary level school. The problem may stem from a K-8 school, where those books are very appropriate for a mature 7th or 8th grader, but definitely not for a 3rd grader. I don't get the rationale behind James & the Giant Peach though. Maybe someone else could enlighten me!
- They are banned because there are many narrow-minded people in this country with little education, who think witches are real and kids shouldn't learn swear words before the age of 30. No actual public or public school library is banning these books.
- It's simple. These books though good books many may find some of the material offensive.LIke for example people were hating Harry Potter books because they said it promoted witchcraft So usually majority of the time it can be real silly reasons for someone being offended by a book.if someone doesn't want their child exposed that they think is bad then they complain. I know when I worked at a summer camp a lot of fun camp songs had to be changed because of complainst of some it being offensive.
