  1. I am wondering the same thing- I am from OK but recently went and visited Denver, CO's Art Institute of CO and loved the school and denver but the school is private and soooooo expensive- $454 per credit hr. On the plane ride home I actually sat by an interior designer from Nashville that works with an Architecture firm. She actually went to school at Oklahoma State University for interior design. She hires designers and says she doesn't look at the school as a deciding factor as long as it is accredited- she looks for their passion, knowledge, and experience. By the way she was talking she has been in the field for about 20 yrs and now makes around $80,000/yr. She thinks the $70,000 it will take me to finish The Art Institute of CO's design management program is so not worth it (graduates from their interior design and related fields programs average $31,000 starting pay- which is normal). Keep in mind I am not including study abroad and I have about 39 credit hrs that will transfer to the approx. 196 hr program (If I remember the total credit hr correctly)..... it still comes to $70,000 tho! I don't want to pay that much if the school name doesn't matter that much. It just seems like their (AIC) courses and curriculum are so different and so much better than regular (public) design schools. They say that not many other schools offer design management (combines business and interior design which I would use to be an international interior design buyer). They also say the ones that do offer it as a masters only (which you only need if you plan on teaching). I am so lost and happen to be looking for the list of rankings as well- I hope someone can help us! I hope my tad bit of info. helped. Let me know if you have any info. for me! Thanks! Lyndi
