New York's Best Sellers List. List top non-fiction books of the week.?
1.) Top non-fiction books 2.) Authors of them 3.) Their publishers In general how many books have to be sold to make the list? I have a story that involves a number (3) of icons that were former partners of mine just prior to their deaths. It also involes some business deals that we put togeher back in the ninites that with the political corruption that also was involved in the deal and how they were financed, I think it would make a good story. Being that I'm not a writer, any sugestions as to a ghost writor or writor that would be ideal for this type of story? Anyone have an idea of a publisher that this type of story would fit the type of books handle? Any ideas about an agent that's already established that has a simular background of representing the type of book this would be? I already have the Writors Market and it is overwhelming as far as those that could... It's like picking a fish out of the barrel, but which one? Any suggestions at all feel free!

- You can look at the NYT Bestseller list here: http://search.barnesandnoble.com/booksearch/isbnInquiry.asp?z=y&EAN=9780312309015&itm=3 You'll need to look at each individual book to get the name of the publisher. I don't know why it matters at this point, when you have not written anything-- what's your reason for knowing how many copies where sold? As for a ghost writer, maybe you can check craiglist.org for someone in your area. You need to write a complete manuscript before thinking about agents or publishers or bestsellers. No publisher or agent is going to "ask" you to write a bestseller- you need to write it and the work will stand on its own merits. I suggest putting away the Writer's Market and getting some books on writing, such as "Writing the Breakout Novel" by Donald Maass or "The Complete Handbook of Novel Writing: Everything You Need to Know About Creating & Selling Your Work" by Meg Leder. You need to know some basics about writing to attract a willing, professional ghost writer, agent, and/or publisher.
