Ron Paul's book, "The Revolution" has reached #1 on the New York Times bestseller list this week...
What is it about Ron Paul's ideology that his supporters like so much? Can someone distill it down for us on these boards?

- His pragmatism and lack of cant and ideology. He doesn't resort to demagoguery. He's not a populist who manipulates people's emotions and beliefs in myths.Basically he wants to get this house in order in the most reasonable way.
- Science Fiction is a hot seller
- The New York Times specializes in fiction these days. It is no wonder Paul's book is #1.
- Distill it? It's a sad statement on what kind of garbage people will buy. It would be nice if some of the Ron Paul twits would actually READ the constitution. They might look less stupid.
- it's cause he endoses freedoom and stands up for what is right. his book is going to no.1 is more evidenc he could still win. plus the one million votes he has gotten allready. here in my state I see more Ron paul sighns then any other canidate running. iv'e only seen one sighn supporting john mccain! lol!
- ron paul is a liberal nutjob who calls himself a conservative. last i checked conservatives don't believe the govt did 9/11 like paul does.
- People are so funny, recycling the same fiction jokes over and over, they crack me up. Perhaps they should read about Ron's ideology before bashing it so hard because they are liberal and think he is conservative. Ron Paul is the best candidate for president IMO..not that he has a chance now, but hopefully in the next election he will. His ideas are excellent, with the least government intervention at the top of his list. He is for freedom of health (Which means legalization of marijuana, which will automatically bring crime down a heavy percent I believe..you know how many people are in prison over dumb weed charges?) and leaving the moral issues up to the states (Like abortion). I could go on and on, but I really don't have the time..go to his website and study his issues at RonPaul2008.com and you will see why I believe he is a good candidate. Also, for all the dems..he WANTS OUT OF THE WAR..
- Ron Paul's ideology is very simple; he wants to run a government based on the Constitution. Believe it or not, this is very far from what he have today. He wants to abolish the illegal Federal Reserve and Federal Income Tax, while drastically decreasing the size of the federal bureaucracy and our ridiculous deficits. He wants to have a non-interventionist policy with trade, not alliances, as the framers prescribed. No imperialism, no patriot act, no war on drugs. Many people disagree with some of these positions simply because they do not understand them; it is most definitely in the populace's interest to abolish the Fed and Income tax. Ron Paul is freedom; you should research him and write-in his name in November.
- His ideology is part of a long line of thought going back to the authors of our Constitution. Fundamentally, it is the principle that we own the government — the government does not own us. Congressman Paul opposes the draft for the same reason he opposes the income tax — the government does not own our bodies, nor our labor. Our system of government is a constitutionally limited republic. The Constitution is meant to limit government to certain key functions. It specifically describes those functions, and nowhere states that government can abrogate its duties to a private organization, such as has been done with the regulation of currency and the Federal Reserve. Above all we are guaranteed the rights to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness. Perceiving an increasing erosion of these basic rights by a government which we the people actually own, it is no wonder that folks from many walks of life and beliefs find a common ground in these ideas. It is the ideology of individual liberty, and of government by consent.
