What would intrigue you to contact an artist on Craig's List for an original piece of artwork?

I have written a couple of ads, but still have no response from them. Is there a certain style of writing that catches your eye for something of this nature?

1. HI, I am interested. Are you at all interested in animal portraits? How would you feel about using ash remains in the actual painting or paint? Can you give me an idea of pricing for a small to med? Or how long it takes? I have an ad posted in craigs, and got only one response in 7 days. I think the more info you post, the better. I tend to avoid vague postings, and respond to ones that offer specifics. Thanks, Erin (feel free to email me your posting, or to chat about my interest)
2. honestly I think its hard to sell original art these days because people are stupid... when it comes to art at least they see cheap art at Wal Mart and think.. "why should I spend more than $30 (or whatever) for art?" most people dont know what an original painting is worth my husband and I both paint.. here is a link he wrote trying to encourage the public to support bying original art http://www.quazen.com/Arts/Visual-Arts/Buying-Original-Art-From-Unknown-Artists.77679 spread it around if you can.. just for awareness.. maybe if we can educate some people they will buy original art instead of Wal Mart CRAP!
