1. I'm glad you asked because I need to know. I've heard it before and it's bugging me that i can't remember. I'm pretty sure it's featured in a film, can't think where else I would of heard it.
2. I'm not sure what the piece is, but I'd bet my eye teeth it's something by Ludovico Einaudi. Try Echoes: The Einaudi Collection. Even if that particular piece isn't on there, it's a beautiful CD. It does have the gorgeous track from a John Lewis ad a couple of years ago which is very similar. EDIT: Scratch that - it was "Fuori dal Mondo" from Einaudi's album "Eden Roc". Music to make you smile and weep at the same time.
