  8. The Abhorsen or the Old kingdom series. The first book is Sabriel by Garth Nix. Sci-fi/Fantasy It's about a young woman who has grown up away from her father and her real home. She finds that there is trouble and she must cross over the wall to try and save her father in a world that she knows very little about. Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal by Christopher Moore is a funny and lighthearted look at Jesus's story. I found it much more amusing than churchy.
  9. Sisterhood of the traveling pants...twiligh...city of bones....city of ember... i dont really want do describe,..but you can look them up :DDD
  10. "Farenheit 451" by Ray Bradbury is a good book that you should read. It is about a world where books aren't allowed and all books have to be burned or else those people get severe consequences. But one fireman (who's job is to burn those books) decides to read one...and so on. It's very interesting, It is a teenage level book, although I read it when I was young. I highly recommend it. I would recommend this for your book club as well. But if you would like something different, then you could try reading "To Kill a Mockingbird" by Harper Lee. It has so many lessons and so much insight to share. Your book club would have great discussions about it just like I did in my English class. It is about two children who deal with racism and other issues in their southern town. I also recommend "Firestarter" by Stephen King for your book club, it is an amazing book. It is about a girl who has these telekinetic powers and so on. I think you will like this one even better than "To Kill a Mockingbird".
  11. Books for you: Hawksong by Amelia Atwater Rhodes (shapeshifters, romance, suspense) Bras and Broomsticks by Sarah Mlynowski (humor, little romance, magic) Blue is for Nightmares by Laurie Faria Stolarz (suspense, murder, magic, romance) A Great and Terrible Beauty by Libba Bray (magic, suspense) Angus, Thongs, and Full Frontal Snogging (HUMOR, romance) For book club: The Secret Life of Bees (racism, romance, abuse, murder, sisterly love, and a little religion)
  12. All I Want for Christmas is a Vampire - it's a romance about Ian, a vampire who is looking for love after being stuck in a fifteen year old body for the past 500 years. He manages to age to the ripe old age of 26 through. He meets his group's new body guard Toni (woman) and the two have quite a rocky start. But when a dark coven start to threaten Ian's group to get the potion that helped Ian age for the other magic properties it has (like allowing vampires to remain awake during the day!), they grow to be friends... and then, well, you're just gonna have to read it to find out who wins in that battle. Silver Kiss- A vampire boy who believes he is a monster who lives through the death of others. He meets a human girl who he grows close to. He has to protect her when his dark brother begins to search for her, longing for her blood. Will he be able to fight off this cruel child (yes, the brother is in the form of a child) who is beyond evil incarnate. Blood and Chocolate- A werewolf girl meets a human who seems to connect with her wild side more than any other she's ever met. Will their friendship work out? Will it blossom into something more? Can he handle the truth of what she is? It Happened to Nancy- a teenage girl who wants to feel like someone cares. She meets and has sex with an "18" year old guy who is actually in his 20s with AIDS (he sleeps with a LOT of girls). It's her journal as her contracted disease progresses. Will she find the love she craves before the disease claims her life? Though depressing, it's very... interesting and educational about how those with AIDS cope with the disease. Super What?- A girl from a super hero family discovers she... has no powers?! What is she going to do now that she has to go to school with Normals?! And how is she going to deal with the odd things that keep happening around her? Are these her powers surfacing? Copper Sun- Amari goes from carefree African girl to slave in a matter of a few days... she has to endure many trials to stay alive. Her journey is both fascinating and horrifying. It's a good read.
