Need Help with making money at 15?
I recently won my DECA district competition by out testing 500 other students (DECA is a business club and chapters compete with each other around the US) . This qualifys me for the state competition in which the top 6 go to the national competition. There have only been two freshman in the history of the school to ever win at states and only 5 to ever win at districts and I really think I can make it at states. Unfortunately my family doesn't have enough money for me to go a whopping $400 dollars. I am comfortable with getting a job and doing whatever it takes to go. So if anyone has job ideas or money making tips I would really appreciate it money is due Feb 20th so it's almost impossible. I'm taking all honors classes and am in math 3 years above my grade with a 3.78 gpa and know how to dress for success so I don't think it will be that hard for me to get a job just need one that can either offer an advance or that pays moderately well. I live in south Florida and don't know the labor laws here for minors

- Normally you have to be sixteen to get a job in most states, but if I were you I would check with your school because sometimes they have programs called "work experience" and you can earn credits as well as money for working. I did that when I was in school and I worked at a grocery store. If your school deosn't provide a program like that they you are pretty much out of luck other then getting a paper route, or working for your family or friends. Good luck to you & congrats on the business club!
- people are always looking for teens to do sales...you have to be persuasive but you can make a lot of money fast if you try hard! look in the paper or craigslist.com they usually say something like looking for students 15.75 starting pay! good luck!
- First of all; you do NOT "need a job." WHat you DO need is to learn to THINK. You your brain instead of looking for the easy answer. You say that you have won local BUSINESS club and are now qualified to go to the state level; then use THAT. Think "business" and forget about a "job". YOUR "business" is competeing at the state level and your asset are your GPA, your experience, your training. Treat this as a business and put together a Business Plan. Search for mentors or sponsors in your area that will provide "venture capitol" to allow you to attend the state AND maybe the national level. Go talk to local Lions Clubs, SCORE, Business Roundtable functions in your city. Talk to the Mayor about what great publicity it would be more a freshman to win the state level. Ask business owners if they would sponsor part of your expenses for you wearing thier logo during the trip. Call tv stations and ask them to interview you about your fund raising activities. You are in BUSINESS training so use that training to finance the trip.
- Culver's minimum hiring age is 14 with a workers permit. I called many stores because I am 14 looking for a job. This was the response they gave which makes me happy after looking for so long. Find a local one go online and apply and go in store to apply or call and ask if they are hiring. What I did was Google a bunch of business near my home and found their numbers using Google maps or their sites and I called and directly asked if they are hiring and what age do they hire at. Try local grocery stores, pizza parlors, retail stores, fast food restaurants.
