Is it ok to give your baby shower hostess a list of things you need. (for a hostess gift) Doesn't seem right.

It don't but at least they will not be wasteing their money on things you don't need that is going to just be lying around.
A baby (or bridal) shower is exactly for that - showering the mom- (or bride-) to-be with gifts. It's understood that gifts will be given. To be considerate, it might be better to register at Babies "R" Us or Target and let the hostess know that you are in their databases, rather than handing over a list of stuff. Just make sure you have lots of choices in many price ranges - let everyone decide their own budget for your gift. BTW, congratulations!
No, it does not seem right. Perhaps a little more gentle way, would be to give a list of things that you Already have!This puts no burden on what you may selfeshly want.
