How do I add sites to "Show Top Sites" in Safari 4 Beta?
I just downloaded the Safari 4 Beta, and I'm confused on how you add sites to the "Show Top Site" page.

- From what it says on the bottom, you cant, which i think isn't the best idea Apple has come up with. It will automatically add your most visited sites to the Top Sites list as you start to use the browser. Almost like your Top 25 Most Played on iTunes. =]
- While you're in Edit mode, you can add a site to the Top Sites. Just open the site in another window, and drag its icon from the address bar, into the Top Sites window. It will be added and pinned.
- This last suggestion does not work. I have tried it on my mac and it did not work. As I know of it, there is no real way to add sites you want to top sites as of yet, which really needs changed. If there is a way I do not yet know about, it needs to be easier to do, cause I haven't found it yet. EDIT: Ok, actually, I guess it just doesn't work when I try to drag in the hotmail sign in page. That's odd. That is the page I want on there. So it works for most sites i guess, just not the one I want.
- OK...I am currently using MAC OS X Version 10.5.6 When you open Safari 4, I am assuming that that welcome video will play, and you will be directed to Top Sites. If not, just go there. Then, you open a new window, and open the site that you want to add. In the URL place, you will see the site's icon. Drag and drop the icon into the Top Sites window. The window will change to that site, and next time you go to Top Sites, it should be there. Hope this works...
- I found these very specific instructions on Mac OS X Hints, and they worked find on my Mac, but I suspect it should work on Windows just as well: 1. Open the top sites window. 2. Click the Edit button. 3. Open the web site you'd like to add to Top Sites in another window. 4. Drag the want-to-add site's site icon (it appears to the left of the URL) from the URL address bar into the Top Sites window. You can position the site while you're dragging it, too. 5. Drop the site when it's in the position where you'd like it to stay -- the site will be pinned to this position automatically.
- You can't add your own personal Top Page, but however, visit the website you want to add 5 times (reload 5 times), then when you go to "Top Sites" it should be there. If you want to keep that website there permanently, click "Edit" at Lower left part of the screen, then on the Page Preview thing, it gives you an option to remove it or pin it. Click on pin it. You should get that hopefully.
