What are some nice stores to look for a dress for a semi-prom?

Okay so at my school we are having a dance and its called The Winter Formal and its like a prom for middle school students. So i need a dress and i have no idea where to go. so if someone could give me a short list of stores that sell nice formal and casual dresses.
