Latest Lists

What is a good site that has a comprehensive list of wedding supplies, dos and don'ts, etc.?

I would like a site someone has actually used successfully to plan their wedding. I really haven't been to a lot of weddings and know I will leave something crucial out. I need something that lists everything from what you need for apparel (I can see myself forgetting a garter), to the reception (a box for cards) to a list of what roles there are (ushers, readers, MC). Thank you all for sharing your expertise! Maybe I should have added I am Canadian so a site that lists items available in Canada, etc. would be very helpful.

  1. Hi I'm in the middle of planning my own wedding also and came across the same dilema as you. I did a search on Yahoo! for particular items (wedding ring pillow, bridal garters, etc.) and whatever site a looked into had a long list of items down the side of the page of you might want for your big day. Sorry it's not specific but I hope it's somewhat usefull. Good luck and all the best for your special day!!
  2. www.theknot.com is an excellent place to start, they have comprehensive checklists, budgets, and resources to find all the vendors you'll need in your area. It was my main resource when I was planning my wedding last year!
  3. http://www.frugalbride.com/index.htm Im not from canda but this site is a brilliant canadian site and helped me a great deal
  4. I used the knot.com. It was really cool. I could keep up with everyone, guest list, dress items. However, it could not keep up with me and ebay. I also bought a wedding planning book off their. It is a great site. I would also suggest, a good notebook, to keep up with things that you think of when you are not at the computer. I had the notebook and the wedding planning book in a tote, I kept in the car, I could easily carry in and out of everywhere. I kept a list of venders in the notebook with numbers.
  5. TheKnot.Com It has GREAT resources for you, from grabbing ideas from other real weddings, to checking out listing in your local area, to a budget checklist. I am using it for our "real deal" wedding when we get back to the states in 2010.
