Does anyone have a list of pre-wedding jobs or maybe a wedding planner checklist?

I would like to do most of the planning myself and not employ a planner. This is my second marriage and also his. We have four months and at this stage no venue. Date set, ideas tossed around and a guest list made. Have viewed some dresses and spoke to a couple of celebrants. No bookings as yet. I feel there are lots of little things to organise but not sure where to start. Please help!!

  3. Dont worry .. lol 4 months is more than enough time! I planned my entire wedding , i got engaged in June, and we are to be wed sept13th-- everything is done. Our second wedding as well so everything is going to be done short and quick and still extremely elegant! We have a family member taking photos, our cake is being homemade, all our food is being made by family and friends , the flowers and bouquets are being made by Me and my mother, Everything fell together in about a month. now just little details need to be finished. decorated the night before. and we are good to go. Check list.. I made my own its quite simple but there are hundreds online.. http://www.bredhurstchurch.org.uk/wedcheck.htm http://www.bitsnstuff.co.uk/acatalog/Wedding_Planning_Collection.html http://www.realsimple.com/realsimple/package/0,21861,1700952-1705005-1,00.html (this one is great there are all sorts of printable check lists for everything you could imagine!)
  4. Sign up for The Knot -they have an interactive checklist that shows you what you should be getting done month by month. Obviously not every single thing is applicable, I just check off the unnecessary ones to get them out of the way. You should get your venue booked soon though, and your caterer if it's not going to be onsite. That and your ceremony location and officiant are the two most important things - without those, no wedding.
  5. Use theknot.com's checklist it is very detailed
