1. Nothing tops the original ... Bram Stoker's "Dracula." Anne Rice's "Vampire Chronicles" aren't bad, either, though.
2. Anne Rice-- she's got about 11 or 12 in her series and each is a masterpiece of its own. Dracula-- the original version by Bram S. None of the remakes.

8. OMG DUDE HOW CAN NO ONE SAY THIS! CIRQUE DU FREAK! IT SOUNDS WEIRD BUT IT IS AN AMAZING (Sorry bout cap's this is just the best series ever) Series and I have LITERALLY read this series over 5 times! Really, I barely read any other series (Except Demonata, by the same author) But its an amazing series and I guarantee you will NOT regret reading it!
