Mobile device CSS design - inline lists?

Do inline lists not work when designing for a mobile device? I'm trying to make a horizontal menu but the styles aren't being applied. I'm using code from Listamatic (which renders properly in a regular web browser) but displays as a regular, unordered list on a mobile device

1. Completely depends on the mobile device and the browser that's running on it unfortunately. Something like Opera Mini/Mobile or Safari would probably render it fine, but other browsers such as the ones bundled with your couple of year old average Nokia, or Pocket IE probably won't. Currently, the key to designing for mobiles is to keep things as simple as possible.
