New band from San Francisco? Help me remember the band name and song name?

Ok I think the lead singer is homosexual, like that matters but it does narrow down the list of bands. They just released an album in 2008, it was their first, they are high pitched. The most famous song had the word "angel" in the title I believe, and anyway I think they were on a late night talk show performing at some point. (but who isnt lol) And I just can't remember who it is! But they are good. Help me figure it out. EXTREMELY VAUGE sorry! But I know someone knows who they are. They are famous.
