1. Because it's a classic. I watched it in 4th or 5th grade, and old, musical, classics are usually movies that kids do not appreciate or understand. But it truly was a good movie and the acting was entertaining and so were the songs. It was a fun movie.
2. The music is catchy, the singing is great, the choreography is great, and the movie just rocks!
3. well, personally, i'd like to do that because i never do anything i'm not supposed to. and i'm so shy and self-conscious that singing in the rain, being messy and doing something i love (singing) under the elements gives me a thrill. makes me feel free. instead of covering up from the rain, i let it soak my skin.
4. It is an all around great movie. First of all, the movie is based in fact. A lot of silent film stars lost their jobs when talking pictures were introduced. The movie is incredibly funny. It's got great lines to quote. The acting is superb (Jean Hagen should have won and award for her portrayal of Lina Lamont.) The music and dancing are excellent and it has a good story line. Singin' in the rain is often referred to as the musical for people who don't like musicals. I should also mention that Gene Kelly had the best smile in Hollywood.
