How do I make a template with Excel?

I'm trying to make a weekly meal plan to include all days of the week, a dinner category and a space for a grocery list. For some reason Excel has four spreadsheets open. Can someone please tell me how to set it up? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks.

1. There are templates on the MS Office template site: A search for excel meal planner there came up with these: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/templates/results.aspx?qu=excel+meal+planner&av=TPL000
2. A lot of templates already exist - it might be easier to find one that will work rather than create your own.
