Prom- People voting for 2 who died earlier in the year in a car crash?
Back in November 2 boys from my school died in a car crash. Unknown to prom supervisors and myself they were still on the list for people to vote for, for prom court. I am chairing the subcommittee that is in charge of these elections. Should I allow the two to be part of prom court?

- If a presidential or mayoral candidate were to withdraw from the election or otherwise be unable to serve then, no, they should not be on the ballot.
- They should be allowed, then if they do gain the majority of votes then at least it can be held in their memory.
- This is a hard one. Actually no. Even though they are no longer with you, they Prom is a time to rejoice and have fun. Crowing the King and Queen of Prom is joyous time and the King should actually be there. It should be someone who is actually in attendance. I think it might be lovely to take a few moments during the Prom to remember them, but having them on the Prom vote for King is incorrect. Peace, Love & Happiness
- nah. no reason to make people sad when they vote for prom king and queen.
- No, people will probably feel the need to vote for them even though they wouldn't have if they were alive. The prom is for people who are alive and at the school.
- Perhaps make them honorary court members, but the living contestants with the most votes would be the actual prom court members.
- No, they shouldn't be on the ballot.
- I agree with "latj" about a commemorative moment -- perhaps at a different time in the prom proceedings. If the person were not there, it would create an awkward gap, his female partner would be left single, and it would be a sad occasion all around.
