Book Club - what are YOUR top books?

my friends and I are starting a book club and looking for some ideas of books to read. We have a decent list but looking for some suggestions! What are some of your all time favorites? Thanks!! Thanks for the suggestions so far. In addition though, any suggestions other than Twilight. We are looking for more classics/american lit/french lit/russian lit- but not really teenage books (we are all PhD students)

4. the obvious one is twilight!! you HAVE to read jane eyre!! it's a great book and in my opinion it's the best love story ever!! it's a classic so it could be a bit hard if you don't read classics!!
5. Anything by Anita Shreve or Nelson DeMille (these are for adults, so if you're younger forget I said that.)
