Is there anyway to set things up so that anytime I open any folder the contents are in list form?

1. when you open the folder in question there will be a horizontal group of drop down menus at the top of the window..click on the one named View, when that opens there will be an option to List the contents of the folder
2. javazombie13, No offense but no shit. What I'm asking is if their is some way of telling your computer that no matter what folder it opens the contents will be displayed as a list. For example, I download a folder and open it for the first time, I want the default setting to say OK here is a folder I better open it and display the files in list form(preferably sorted by type) or my owner is gonna flog me and subject me to an assault of porn adware + spyware for not doing what I want. Get it?
