Latest Lists

On Thursday June 4th i put my 600 dollar car for sale on Crag's list. On Friday i received 12 calls for it.?

The first guy i called back from the calls said he wanted the car no matter what as long as it ran. he said he had no way to come and look at the car and since he said he wanted the car i took it to him so he could look at it. after looking at the car he gave me a deposit on June 5th for 300 dollars. i called back everybody that called looking for the car and told them it was sold.on June 7th i heard from the guy who wanted the car who said he needed a few days straighten things out to pick it up. it is now almost 2 weeks later Ive called him everyday numerous times since, with no response to my phone calls. i was wondering if i have the right to resell the car and keep his deposit for the aggravation he has put me through.

  1. wel well well your first lesson//as you are not in the car business you tell people first cash get the car//now you have to dance with this guy that has no money and you still have the car//get back on craigs and go again and this time first one there with the cash get the car//stop fooling around its not like its 10grand or even one grand//get piece of paper and put on the paper i(your name) sell for the sum of 600.00 the following vehicle(serial number year make and model) this car is sold with no warranty and as is where is/ give copy to the buyer and you keep the signed copy from buyer//good luck this time//put the other deposit in your checking account and mail him a check//write on check refund deposit and put car info on it
  2. did you have a written agreement with the guy? did you already give him the title? if all he did was give you $300 and nothing else was swapped around, you have tried for 2 weeks to get a hold of him , then he would be out of that $300 . it is like a binder on a house. you put money down to hold it for a certain period of time, if you change your mind about the house or can not come up with the rest of the money, you loose your binder.
  3. Call him one last time. Tell him he has 2 days to respond or else you will keep the deposit and re-list the car for sale. Write down this in a letter and send it to yourself. The letter should state what has happen starting with the list of the car, your repeated attempts to complete this transaction with this guy, and what conditions your have given him with the last and final phone call. Once you receive this letter, put it in a safe place so you can use it as documentation.
