where do I find people that rent to people wih section 8 vouchers?

in topeka Kansas where are the section 8 houses or a list of landlords who approve section 8 I need to find a 2-3 bedroom as soon as possible my vouchers are running out please help

1. Look in the paper in the classified ads.. or on Craigs List.. the ad will usally say sect. 8 okay. When I lived in Chicago, I saw this often in ads.. I had no clue what it was until I asked one of the landlords who was renting an apt. Good Luck. ;-)
2. consider calling classified ads for private people and ask them if they are willing to take the section 8 voucher. we owned apartment building and did not know about this until someone asked. the government pay is SLOW but is consistent and guaranteed. it was a good idea to accept them. some smaller companies or individuals do not always know of this program / so i suggest that you ask and explain to them what it is / they can check on it and decide if they think is a good idea or not. this is an opportunity that a small person renting for property might not know about.
3. Perhaps your county Sec. 8 administrator maintains a list of landlords who will accept Sec. 8 vouchers. Where I live, the list of such landlords is constantly dwindling, due to the numerous problems and issues with Sec. 8 tenants. Over a decade ago, I elected to no longer accept Sec. 8 vouchers. Sad to say, it's better to have a vacant unit than to have one occupied by Sec. 8.
4. The news paper, or you could just drive around and ask people who are trying to sell a home. If it takes too long they might want to rent to section 8. It couldn't hurt to ask.
