- Any modern computer should be pretty darn fast on the internet. I'd say spend around $400 on a PC and you should be fine for browsing the web. A computer like this: http://www.compusa.com/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=4555150&Sku=M975-10065 will do perfect.
- It has nothing to do with your computer. ISP has many option speed. If you need the full blast speed then upgrade your connection for 3mbps speed so on....
- It is not your computer it is your ISP on which your net speed depends. But if u got really fast connection and u r laggging then just do disk cleanup and fragmentation.Check the settings and get a internet acceleartor software like ashampoo internet acceleartor. If still u r lagging then contact ur ISP and even after that then u might change to some other ISP or get some upgrade.like ram,cpu etc Good Luck!
- What happens when you run one of the test speed test tools from www.2wire.com and www.dslreports.com? Does the speed test match up with your internet service plan? I did some web research and that system by default came with 256 MB of ram and can be upgraded to 1GB. If you haven't already, you should upgrade the memory BUT don't do it if the memory is expensive because you'd be well on your way to paying for a new computer that's better than you currently have. I also noted that the 3000 came with Intel integrated graphics - ick... Personally, I'd buy a new computer because the specs on your computer are not that good. I'm running a quad core HP system with 6 gb of ram, running Vista 64 bit. Vista and 64 bit are not for everyone. You're going to run into driver compatibility issues if you want to use old hardware (e.g. printers, I did...) and some software will not run in Vista and/or does not support 64 bit. You can get some systems with Vista but with software to downgrade to XP. No matter what you get, I recommend 2 GB RAM min, more would be better. A decent sized and fast disk (7200 rpm), a discrete video card (either NVidia or ATI, and not intel integrated). Don't forget to budget/get an external USB hard drive and backup software (some drives come with backup software).
- I had a Dimension 3000, and I could surf the web fine until it got overloaded with viruses (my fault). There are a few factors: 1. What browser you're using...use firefox if you aren't already. 2. Viruses/ spyware...scan... 3 ram and available hard drive space... all of these can affect your browser performance. If you want to scrap the computer you have and money isn't a factor, then I would def. recommend a macbook/macbook pro.
- You can use a registry cleaner to clean up your computer and then make your computer faster,Why?the reason is that there may be some registry errors and remnant, corrupt files and temp files in your computer to cause "computer slow". Every time you install and uninstall software on your computer and surfing online you create junk in the computer registry.over time, the registry can grow to enormous proportions, especially if the various programs you've installed do not do a good job of deleting and/or updating it's Registry entries. You need to scan and clean your computer with registry cleaner to make it fast.Good Registry Cleaner will improve your computer and Internet performance dramatically! There are some comparison and review of TOP 5 registry cleaners. http://www.make-my-pc-faster.com/ You can download and scan your computer for free.
