whats the number to call to check your status on the section 8 list?

i filled out a applacation for low income housing I recived no response. how do i check to see what number i am.

1. 1-800- get a job
2. sometimes if the list is long you need to find another county to move to.They typically have long waiting list in counties that are well populated but say outside that county (one county over) the list is smaller .I would suggest not waiting to the last min b/c sometimes lists and gov funding don't mesh and counties don't get what they expect.I could go on about this subject but won't just check and see what the next county over has to offer you may be suprised.
3. The wait in most cities is around 2 years, as little as one year in some smaller towns. You have to ask your social worker, they will eventually call you to verify if you even qualify to be on the waiting list.
