What is a good name for a boy? Gage or Blade? I can't find anything else that I like better.?

The wife and I can't decide what to name our son. She likes Gage but I know other kids that have that name. I like Blade but she says he will have to live up to that name and she's scared that he won't. I have looked at several baby name sites but I just get a headache looking at all the names. I have even considered looking at video game character names and anime character names but nothing seems to top Gage or Blade to me.

1. Gage. He might be confussed with a Wesley Snipes Movie. My friend is naming her son Jax. I think that is kind of cool.

4. Well......I always try to give the kid a "normal out" in these cases, but with a cool type of nickname. I love Z names, particularly Zane and Xander (pronounced with a Z sound). Xander would be short for Alexander, if you wanted to have sort of a normal back up. It's not a preference towards Gage (my cousin's precious lab's name, also a type of shotgun (12 gauge)), or Blade (another weapon reference), but it kind of fits with the video game/anime thing. What are you thinking about for a middle name? Good luck!
5. Neither. They both sound like they are from anime. And when someone asks (who may not be from your part of town or up-bringing) what his name is and he says "Blade" or "Gage", they will laugh and look confused. And will think it is American/British/Australian trailer park trash. Choose a name which is universal, which he won't be ashamed of when going for a job interview. Remember, kids grow up!

7. I love the name Gage, I wanted to name my second son that but we decided on Ezekiel Sebastion. My first son' s name is pretty cool too. Damion Elijah.

13. It seems to me that nobody wants to name their child a REAL name anymore!Life is not a video game and your child is not an anime character! Remember that whatever you decide, your poor little kid has to LIVE WITH and what may seem cute when he's a new born, will seem silly at 13 years old.I have always liked the name Breck and also Aaron.Brandon Keith and Austin are not only strong male names but also kinda cool. You don't want a name so strong that all the other boys want to pick a fight,but you don't want a name so OUT-THERE that he gets laughed at and picked on eather. My husbands name is Drake and our son is Drake also and you should hear the compliments they get!( girls think it's sexy and guys think it's cool).
14. i don't particularly care for gage, though blade is better, but i agree with your wife about him not living up to it. what about blaze or jaxson/jaxon? or even my three favorite boy names, which are: cannon, royce and brayden.

21. I don't like Blade. It reminds me of Wesley Snipes. I LOVE the name Gage. If My daughter had been a boy she was going to be Daegan (or Dagan wasn't sure) Gage. We went with Asa for her and that's a boys name. What about Pheonix, Gideon, Lucian, hmm... Mirek, Cade, Zane, Xander, Can't really think of anything else that would be around that taste.
