Anyone know the book that lists everything in the garden alphabetically?

I once had the greatest book. It was large and had a white cover. Whenever I had a question about anything in the yard I could find it here.

1. There's one I use that's like an encyclopedia...it's called Western Garden Book and it's put out by Sunset! It's got it all!
2. I have the Western book also.....very good....but the best way to actually look at what you want is to go to the database at:http://www.gardenweb.com/ Also, seed companies like Thompson and Morgan seeds has a category called illustrated index...fabulous

I (could) agree with the other posters above me here -- it could be the Western Sunset book; but, I'm not certain where you live and the edition changes constantly (the 2007 version is due any day now). My thoughts? -- See if the "Wise Garden Encyclopedia" is what you are looking for. Its been around since the 1930's and is constantly revised - however, I still refer to my old edition from the 40s (I'm not that old, but I found a very old copy of the book). Its invaluable -- and, as you asked, it has EVERYTHING in it regarding any subject plant/garden/horti related in it!
4. It's the "Plant Dictionary".
5. The Western Garden Book has been expanded into the Sunset National Garden Book. It covers all of the US and Canada, breaking the nation down into 45 climate zones instead of only 11. I couldn't live without mine. A few plants are not in it, but not many!
