Offered a new position... should I change jobs in a bad economy?

I am 24 years old and currently working for a company as a Sales Coordinator. My bills are minimum, still live at home and only have a car payment on top of credit card bills. I get paid a decent amount of money enough to pay the bills and then some, however, recently they did cutback hours a tiny bit but said they will return it to us the start of October. I don't fear I will be losing my job by any means. As far as my position goes in the company I sit behind a desk on a computer all day not my ideal situation of being in a work place. I have been offered a position as a manager by a franchised company who is opening their doors late August. The position is great, I am getting paid more and I know I will enjoy it. My only fear is if the company does not pull through and goes under. This type of business is all based on location and flow of customers. I have a great resume and an extensive sales background I just fear the fact of switching position and possibly losing the new position down the road when I have something stable. What do you think? Should I take the new position?

1. The one crutch that you do have is that you live at home so that will help you in case the company does go "under". But if its a job you love, one that makes you great money and one that gets you to be independent of your parents...then I would take the risk and go for it. Jobs will come and go throughout life but think of how many people actually "like" their job. I would do it.
2. As you have good control of your bills, and especially you have little or no lodging & food costs, you should seriously consider taking the new job. You should research the franchise and see if they are reputable and profitable - this will give you a good indication of the probability of success.
