What is a good free/affordable mailing list/newsletter script?

This needs to be able to handle many thousands of subscriptions and will be installed on its own server. What is out there to do bulk mailing as well as manage subscribers?

For mailing list software, there are Open source ones Mailman Mailing List jclement mlmmj PHPMyList Dada Mail Majordomo Minimalist ezmlm-idx Search for these terms on google and you should be able to download them. (This needs little experience with software setup) You can use the mailing list feature in outlook if the number of mails that you are going to send in batches is few.
