Can anyone suggest a cookbook (or any book really) that lists good protein sources for vegetarians?

I recently stared being vegetarian, and I'm having trouble getting enough protein.

  1. The Vegetarian Epicure is good I was given it for a wedding present. You need to eat beans and things and mix grains and beans. Quinoa is very good. She if you can buy it as it gives you all he protein you need.
  2. You don't need a cookbook. I can tell you right now that beans and nuts are your best bets. A great recipe is black bean and rice salad. It has white rice, black beans, corn, and red pepper. Also salt and pepper and crushed red pepper or cayenne pepper. Serve cold and garnish with green onions. mmmmm
  3. For some reasons, people that eat meat have a tendency to forget that vegetables contain protein. That being said, I wouldn't recommend a protein supplement because you shouldn't have any problem getting the amount of protein you need from your diet. I gave you some links. The first one will tell you how to calculate how much protein you need. If I were you, I'd keep track of how much protein I eat each day for a week. At the end of the week, average it and compare it to what you should be getting. If you aren't getting enough, start including some of the foods the links mention, and do your calculations again.
