Can I Get a Job at Starbucks? Barnes & Noble?

I'm 20 years old and though i've never worked at an actual location, like a brick and mortar store... ...For the past 5 years have ran an eBay business from home, which has been quite successful and even helped friends open up their own business online. I went as far as to stop selling on eBay for a while to actually help aspiring people open up their own business on eBay. However, being a college student I feel it's time to get out there and stop crouching in front of a computer screen all day and am eager to begin working. I mention Starbucks as my top choice since my best friend works there and says it's a blast. Of course I could use him to help me get the job but we live quite far from each other...so essentially am asking here for all the possible advantages i might have and can use when attempting to get a job with Starbucks, or say, Barnes and Noble... ...considering my eBay experience.

  1. im not sure but do you know how old you have to be to work at subway
  2. OK, dude; I would try Barnes & Noble first. Starbucks aren't easy to get into. From personal experience; Starbucks doesn't care about their job applicants. I was treated like cattle by the Starbucks near me; when I applied for a job there during the holiday season last year. It's a long story; but what management did was totally wrong. I was cursed at by the manager after being guaranteed an interview.... Also; I don't know how true this is but I heard Starbucks has been closing a lot of their stores due to financial problems.. Therefore a lot of their employees have been losing their jobs...It isn't easy to get a job for Starbucks; mostly because they treat job applicants like crap. Well anyways; try Barnes & Noble. Ask a manager there if they are hiring. They'll give you an application if they are hiring. Try applying for job at resturants, hotels, mall shops, I would stay away from Starbucks....I just don't like how their employees treat job applicants and customers.
  3. Well that experience could show you have leadership skills and motivation skill from helping others, selling skills and marketing skills from your business. That would be a big plus but a lot of places want you to have some kind of customer service skills. To work at Barnes and NOble Ive talked to a manager there. To be able to really sale their products you have to have some kind of love for reading. Id try starbucks first. I know people who have gotten jobs there with no experience.
