  1. I had a world religion class in university and the required reading was "The Oxford Dictionary of World Religions" by John Bowker. It is not deeply comprehensive, listing the religions like dictionary entries but it is a good place to start if doing research. Brief descriptions of beliefs and customs are listed.
  2. From what I remember there is a book called - The book of gullibility which covers all that stuff. Can't remember the author though.
  3. And after you read about all of their customs and beliefs, you may want to read about what all the religions started with. Yes, they all started with the same thing.... A way to see and know God who is unseen.... They all STARTED with that one simple thing... but as you will find, they all ended up with different beliefs and customs. So this will explain what they all started with.... http://gospelenigma.com It does so in terms of Christianity, but ALL religions had the same powerful but simple beginning.
  4. This one deals with the major religions, which is less that you asked for, but an EXCELLENT read. It's called "Jesus Among Other Gods." It is a great comparison of the beliefs and customs.
