Mailing List Available to Target Audience in USA?

I am fully intending to mail some postcards through the Post Office system (legally, of course), but am having trouble bringing down my audience. I thought about just blindly sending out 100 postcards, just to get the word out about my product, but... that seems almost like a complete waste. Is there someplace that I can get a free mailing list of maybe book club addresses, or college students in literature addresses, etc. If I can focus my audience, then the odds are more likely that I will actually sell a few of my products.

One of the resources I use for lists is www.melissadata.com You are correct in your wanting to search for your target audience..smart move. Also you'll want to come up with a very very good incentive. You must have somehting to grab them. ...just making people aware of you will yield almost zero results. God Luck!
