It it required to complete the summer reading list for the IB 7th grade program?

When i was going into sixth grade IB I did the summer reading program and in return I got 3 credits for extra credit on particular assignments in English. Now i am heading into 7th grade and they have yet another summer reading list but it is somewhat harder looking than the sixth grade one. Is this one required or was it just recommended like the 6th grade one was? Thank you.

1. I've never done IB anything. Too lazy. But I'd finish the summer reading list though. Just in case.
2. I dunno how the Middle Years Programme works but I'd do it anyway, just to be sure.
