- Yes, many. Fox & Friends Uses Outdated Poll to Show Balance It’s a wonder that there are still so many people who don’t question Fox News Channel’s honesty, but rather question why it’s criticized so much lately. Considering they get their news from FNC they wouldn’t know that shows like Fox & Friends get caught doing things like using an outdated poll to show that they’re [...] Written on October 21, 2009 | Posted in Fox & Friends Truth-O-Meter on Glenn Beck Falsehoods 2009 Pulitzer Prize winning PolitiFact.com has taken a look at six statements made by Glenn Beck and rated their truthfulness on their Truth-O-Meter. They found that none of those statements were more than half true. Forty-five percent of doctors “say they’ll quit” if health care reform passes. FALSE – A questionable assertion based on questionable data “You [...] Written on October 15, 2009 | Posted in Glenn Beck Fox News Falsely Connects Kevin Jennings To NAMBLA Sean Hannity asked at the beginning of his show, “Does Kevin Jennings support the group NAMBLA?” Karl Rove makes the false claim that Jennings is guilty of “high-profile, in-your-face advocacy of things like NAMBLA and gay rights and queering elementary school curricula.” Of course, neither Hannity, nor Rove, can provide any proof, [...] Written on October 12, 2009 | Posted in Sean Hannity FoxNation Posts FY09 Budget Deficit Falsehood The Fox Nation web site posted a headline reading, “Obama Triples Budget Deficit to $1.4 Trillion,” which linked to an AP article that suggested anything but that claim. The AP’s exact wording: “[t]he federal budget deficit tripled to a record $1.4 trillion for the 2009 fiscal year that ended last week.” In fact, the article stated [...] Written on October 12, 2009 | Posted in Fox Nation CNN Takes On Fox News’ Falsehoods About Kevin Jennings Tweet This Post Written on October 4, 2009 | Posted in Fox News White House Points Out Fox News Olympic Falsehoods The official White House blog, once again, takes Fox News to task over falsehoods and, this time, their partisan attack over the Olympics, of all things… RHETORIC: BECK SAID VANCOUVER LOST $1 BILLION WHEN IT “HAD THE OLYMPICS.” Glenn Beck said, “Vancouver lost, how much was it? they lost a billion dollars when they had the [...] Written on September 30, 2009 | Posted in Fox News CNN Ad Regarding Fox News Lie Tweet This Post Written on September 19, 2009 | Posted in Videos Jesse Watters, the O’Reilly Factor Ambusher, Ambushed ThinkProgress.org was able to catch up with Jesse Watters and ask him a few questions before he was able to hop in an elevator. But, this is a hilarious prank by an ACORN staffer against Fox [...] Tell Sean Hannity To Tell The Truth Sean Hannity has said, “[If health-care reform passes, we’re] gonna have a government rationing body that tells women with breast cancer, ‘You’re dead.’ It’s a death sentence.” Obviously, this is just his imagination because 1) it’s not likely and 2) the bill has not been passed, much less finished, so he has no evidence. So, what [...] Written on September 15, 2009 | Posted in Sean Hannity Sean Hannity’s Falsehoods About John Holdren Sean Hannity, on his attack against so-called “czars,” or advisers, has targeted John Holdren with the following bit of misinformation: HANNITY: So we know the White House sought out Van Jones, which begs the question: How many more like him are serving in our government? Is Van Jones just the tip of the iceberg? We know [...] Written on September 10, 2009 | Posted in Sean Hannity Glenn Beck Raped and Murdered a Girl in 1990? Some sources claim that Glenn Beck may be responsible for the rape and murder of a girl in 1990. Bush took office, according to Sean Hannity, Bill Clinton wrote an Op-Ed criticizing the then incoming president. Unfortunately for Hannity, that’s rubbish. - Yes, there is! On Whitehouse.gov! It's a pathetic page of about 5 mistakes that were made on the Glenn Beck show. Mostly by his guests. On of them was from a statement that he made about the Olympics. They fail to say that in his next show he corrected himself for mistakenly saying the wrong city. In fact all of the mistakes listed on whithouse.gov were clarified on the show. http://www.whitehouse.gov/blog/Reality-Check-Turning-a-Point-of-Pride-into-a-Moment-of-Shame/ It's pathetic that our PRESIDENT is too busy ankle biting FOX to focus on real issues like the war in Afghanistan or jobless rates, or our ever growing debt!
- No there is not, and not even the staunchest of liberals on the site can produce 1 lie.
- The biggest antagonists of Fox news are; 1. Media Matters: http://mediamatters.org/ . They devote a daily section on refuting FOX News. 2. Huffington Post: http://www.huffingtonpost.com/ . 3. Newshounds: http://www.newshounds.us/ . They claim that they watch Fox News so you won't have to. Of course, they are democratic leaning pubs.
- Yes. There are 11,100,000 entries for "Fox Lies" in the Google search. Take your pick. *********** Fox News Launches Another Smear Campaign Against an Obama Official October 01, 2009 12:52 pm ET FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Network relies on made-up charges, homophobic attacks, distorted quotes in witch hunt against Department of Education official Washington, D.C. - Today, ...the latest Fox News-driven smear campaign, in which right-wing media figures have called for Department of Education official Kevin Jennings to be fired. Conservative media have promoted the made-up charge that Jennings "cover[ed] up statutory rape." They have painted him as a "radical" "gay activist" and have misrepresented and distorted Jennings' previous comments. "Fox News' allegations about Kevin Jennings covering up a statutory rape are wholly unsupported by the facts," .... "But Fox has already proven that facts don't matter in its campaign against Jennings. Who needs facts when your reports are built on made-up charges and anti-gay bigotry?" BACKGROUND Conservative media unleash anti-gay rhetoric in attacks on Jennings SUMMARY: The latest target in the Glenn Beck-driven conservative media witch hunt for Obama administration "czars" is Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools director Kevin Jennings. In their attacks on Jennings, numerous conservative media figures have resorted to thinly veiled homophobic appeals to paint Jennings, who is gay, as a "radical" "gay activist" with an "agenda" of "promoting homosexuality in schools," and have misrepresented or distorted Jennings' previous comments about religion and tolerance. Despite evidence to contrary, Fox News machine claims Jennings "cover[ed] up statutory rape" SUMMARY: Despite evidence to the contrary, Fox News -- led by Sean Hannity -- and other right-wing media have claimed that Department of Education official Kevin Jennings "cover[ed] up statutory rape" and violated Massachusetts law by not reporting to authorities a 1988 conversation in which a high school student told Jennings about his relationship with an older man. In fact, Jennings' attorney wrote in a 2004 letter that the student was 16 years old, which is -- and was at the time -- the legal age of consent in Massachusetts. After FoxNews.com truncated Jennings' quote, Wash. Times, Fox Nation accuse "safe school czar" of "encouraging" statutory rape SUMMARY: A Washington Times editorial accused "safe school czar" Kevin Jennings of "encourag[ing]" a relationship that amounted to "statutory rape," by suggesting that his only response to an underage student's revelation that he had sex with what the Times described as an "older man" was to "make sure 'to use a condom.' " In fact, Jennings stated that he hoped the student "knew to use a condom" to protect against STDs; moreover, the FoxNews.com article from which The Washington Times based this claim truncated Jennings' remarks to exclude his statement that he thought to say this because his "best friend had just died of AIDS the week before." More witch-hunting: Fox News targets "safe schools czar" Kevin Jennings SUMMARY: In its Glenn Beck-driven witch hunt for "czars" in the Obama administration, Fox News has turned its attention to attacking Office of Safe and Drug-Free Schools director Kevin Jennings, with Sean Hannity and Fox & Friends asking whether Jennings should be "fired" and whether he is "the guy for the job." In pressing for Jennings to be fired and misconstruing Jennings' past comments, Fox News continues its pattern of using gross distortions to attack President Obama's advisers.
- Yes, there are quite a few actually. My personal favorite Fox lies are the really, really obvious ones. Like when they called Mark Foley (the Republican Congressman pervert who kep emailing and texting all the fine young stud pages in Congress) a "Democrat" over and over, for about three days. And before anybody tries to say "Oh! But that was just an innocent mistake!" may I remind you that they just did the very same thing with Mark Sanford? They called him a Democrat over and over. And of course, the most blatant blaring lie of all is repeated with every broadcast - that they have the gall to try to pass themselves off as "fair and balanced" when Rupert Murdoch HIMSELF is on record as having admitted, in an interview, that he and Fox News most certainly DID try to "influence the outcome of the Iraq War." ???
