- Several children are killed by their own greed and stupidity. Dead children, no matter how much they deserve it, will often get bad press.
- In 1988 Charlie and the Chocolate factory was banned by a librarian in Boulder, CO because it espoused a 'poor philosophy of life'.
- It wasn't baned in China, which is ironic since a lot of regular ordinary stuff gets banned in China. In fact if an author upsets the government all of their books may get banned even if they were previously listed as good examples of literature by the state.
