Good/ Bad Idea? Baby Shower List?

Is it a good idea to make a list of what I still need to send out with the baby shower invitations. My mom is in charge of the baby shower, and she said that sending a list would be a better idea that way instead of people having to by something from the registry they can buy it any where they find it. And she said that by sending a list it will give people an idea of what I still need. Is this a good idea?

  1. doing a registry is better just so you dont end up with a bunch of people buying you the same thing. what about doing a registry at a place that has really good prices?
  2. I don't think it is a good idea because at least a registry people won't buy the same thing multiple times (although sometimes that doesn't work in a registry) Unless you are going to send each person an individual thing to get... that would just be kind of weird to me. So no I don't think it is a good idea unless you only need like 5 more things.
  3. No.
  4. I do not like lists of requests and demands in any form or fashion. That is in the poorest taste. I suggest to stick with the registry as it is a socially acceptable practice. Good luck
  5. I do not think it is a bad idea. I would put a title on the list something like "Gift ideas of items we do not have yet". The only thing is without doing a registry people may get double gifts. I personally like to have ideas of what people NEED. Good luck.
  6. Do the registry, but heres the thing, make sure you tell people to show the registry at the check out other wise you end up with 3 of the same things (that happened at mine, everyone printed out the registry but no one updated it) And isn't that what a registry is a list of the things you need? You can always do two different registrys, one from the place where you WANT things and then another at a place where you NEED things. I got everything I needed, and I actually didn't buy the crib til my daughter was 2 months old because she slept in her bassinet right next to me for the first to months, and it would have been a waste of space, so I didn't buy it til she was ready to sleep in it, even then the crib was still in my room. So even certain things you can hold off on buying, just have people get you the most important things now.
  7. Target registrys are always the best because its cheap....i just had my baby shower and it was great..btw congrats on the baby, im due on the exact same date but we decided to not know the sex of the baby.....congrats mommy!!!!
  8. well it depends if its your first baby and also i mean everyone knows what a newborn needs. and thats why when you register anywhere you give them the idea of the colors you like and decor for the baby and also the type of carseat your like and so on. its good to have a registry cuz i just had my baby shower and not ever one goes to where you register and you always end up getting the double of the stuff like for example blankets like you dont need 10 of them and oneies are the ones you get the most of all. which im still having trouble returning. and so the list well its all up to you cuz i really never heard anyone do that. what help me is the diaper raffle and everyone that brings and bag of any size diapers is enter into a raffle to win like a gift certificate to of you chose what you like to give out. hope i helped you.
